Costa Rica

The diverse landscapes of Costa Rica allow for great outdoor activities like white water rafting and relaxing at the Tabacon Hot Springs. Explore the Arenal Volcano and view the fiery red glow from the summit. Drive to the Monte Verde Cloud Forest to see the exotic environment and pass through the city of La Fortuna.

Default Nearest Forest From San Jose

Hello,

We are interested to film costa rica forest which is by the river. Is Monteverde the nearest one from San Jose? We are already coming to visit in Jan. 19.

1.How should we get there quickly and safely with our equipments?
2. Are there any media schools in San Jose area to help us?

What features are you looking for in a river? there are many national forests in Costa Rica with rivers each has is unique features. Monteverde is a cloud forest and its a pretty long driver. You might consider Sarapiqui river only 2 hours away from San José and La Fortuna. Access to Sarapiquí is through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the few tropical rainforests in the world. Another place would be the Río Pacuare Forest that has one of the most popular river rafting rivers within it.

If you do go to Monteverde check out the Peñas Blancas river one the cleanest and most pristine rivers in the country.
