Costa Rica

The diverse landscapes of Costa Rica allow for great outdoor activities like white water rafting and relaxing at the Tabacon Hot Springs. Explore the Arenal Volcano and view the fiery red glow from the summit. Drive to the Monte Verde Cloud Forest to see the exotic environment and pass through the city of La Fortuna.

Oh there are many cute but nasty deadly bugs, snakes. I'd say if your overally concerned then stick to the populated tourist areas or take a guided tour. I've even heard of ficus trees that give nasty rashes just by brushing up against them.

Here's a couple of my favorites.

Poison Dart Frog:

Coral Snake:

Poisonous Catepillar

But the most common reptile you'll see is a Green Iguana

and add a few ants and cockroaches.

Costa Rica is a wonderful place to visit.

I can vouch for the cockroaches. When I was there two years ago I had a conversation with a teenage boy and the whole while he was holding (…..and petting) a 3 inch cockroach. Ewwwww!!

Normally I'm not afraid of critters, I could even tolerate rats. But there's something with roaches, they're icky and gross!

And yet, it's a delicacy to some places and culture.
