|  are youth hostels for the young? does that mean they have age restrictions? I am 40 year old female wanting to go this route but I am worried I may be be too old for this? has any one of similar age here been to a youth hostel? can you tell me your experiences with them? thanks!:) |

|  Re: are youth hostels for the young? I've been to many youth hostels in Asia and Europe and I can tell you that youth hostels aren't restricted to age like they used to. You'll come across different types of people, ages, backgrounds, etc; so don't worry about age restrictions that much. Don't get me wrong, youth hostels do exist such as like Hostelling International and the Youth Hostel Association, but the majority of youth hostels are definitely setting aside their age restrictions. |
