How much in tips is acceptable?

Hi there folks! I am taking my first cruise ever in my life and will be sailing this winter. Our room comes with Butler and Conceierge, and it's all prepaid. How much in tips is acceptable and do I have to tip? THANKS

I don't think you're obliged to tip for good service on-board a cruise. If you wish to tip because you feel the staff went the extra mile, then do so.

However, the cruise basics are if your using a personalised and individual service like concierge, butler services, spa treatments, to tip, no more than 15% of what you're paying.

It all depends on your ship and what you say is "prepaid"--what is prepaid? The gratuities?

Each ship has "suggested" tip guidelines and breaks it down per person, per night with $$ going to your butler, your ***'t butler, your headwaiter, ***'t waiter, maitre-d, sommelier, etc.

Tips are what the ships employees rely on for their excellent service and you should tip accordingly.
