Carnival vs. Royal Caribbean

is there a major difference between Carnival cruise line and Royal Caribbean?Which cruise line do you prefer and why?

Carnival is famously known as a party boat and draws a younger crowd of people, whilst Royal Caribbean draws a more mature crowd who are looking for a more up scale experience.

On a Carnival Cruise ship, you get all kind of fun night activities like fun contests, DJ by the pool, etc. If you're bringing kids, definitely choose Royal Caribbean.

They are essentially the same cruiseline...but Carnival does cater to the more youthful and energetic while RCL usually has a more subdued guest group--depending on the exact ship and destination.

I prefer RCL, especially the Legend of the Seas, but depending on cost and destination, would not hesitate to take Carnival either.
