I have been on a few cruises before and two of the best cruise tips I can give you are:

1) if you are prone to suffer from sea sickness, book a cabin in the lower deck.

2) if you're not the type that likes partying all-night long, I'd suggest avoiding like the plague staying in a pool deck cabin or a cabin near the entertainment area since you will hear chairs and tables being moved and noise early in the morning.

As the previous post suggests, certainly, it depends on your personal needs, but most of the rooms will be great. Usually, the very large cruise ships are almost as stable as being on land, unless you've got a crazy storm going on right where the ship is cruising, but they try to avoid any inclement weather to keep passengers happy and safe. I've been on a couple of cruises, and just to be on the safe side, I took the seasick medicine just before the trip and never again after that, and I was just fine, but if you are a seasick type, yes, the closer to the bottom and mid section you can get is going to be your stable section. My personal favorite is the cabin with a window, even a balcony for some fresh air. I love watching the sea; it feels so enchanting to me. For a quiet night, avoid the areas where there will be a lot of evening entertainment going on, especially the pool area, the theater, and some cruises have casinos and nightclubs.

Default cruise cabin tips

I think the main think is to check out the deck plans of the entire ship to see what is above and below your potential cabin. You may think you have found the perfect room only to find out that the aerobics room is directly overhead, or that the night club is a little too close for comfort. Spend time researching the ship before booking and learn what parts of the ship are most appealing to you.

Default Inside cabins

Inside cabins are cheaper than outside cabins but they're not that great because they have no windows...i've been on an inside cabin before and found myself feeling very confined and confused because I couldn’t tell what time of day it was or what the weather was like outside...not a very nice experience!
