This cute beach town in Ecuador is a great place to visit to catch some waves, get some sun and just relax the days away! Stay at hostel Tikilimbo, it is an awesome place where you can rent bikes and surfboards and they also have a wonderful restaurant! Happy travels = )

Montañita is where water sports lovers can find the best beach for surfing with waves reaching three meters of height.

The place holds surfing competitions the whole year round especially during December through April and it is South America’s surfing mecca.

Even though Montanita is a small village is very popular with tourists and it is a booming beachside retreat. Also, it has an excellent night life with bars and discos and the place it is ideal for backpackers or groups of families that are searching for a nice holiday in a peaceful beach spot.

As well as the Montanita, Galapagos Island, San Matero & Rio Chico y Ayampe are the best Ecuador Ecuador sufring spots and offer many possibilities for surfers from worldwide. Between November and January, these Ecuador surfing spots get more crowded than the other places.

I have been to Galapagos Islands once with my 3 friends, it's a less crowded Ecuador surfing area, but offers world class surf, big waves & wonderful wildlife. The room rates at Galapagos hotels are little expensive than the other Ecuador surfing areas and we paid $1,600/person for 1-week surfing package which includes flight from Guayaquil, lodging and transportation to surf breaks, but really we got a lovely Ecuador surfing tour.
