vacation in Ecuador

hi all!

It'll be our first time vacation in Ecuador but we're unsure when to go in the year. The Amazon sounds like fun, when would you suggest going?

Also, what is the currency there and the passport requirements?

If you are planning a jungle trek in the Amazon Basin, the dry season ( from May to November) it's the best time to do this.

The Galapagos Islands are another popular destination in Ecuador. Best times to travel to the Galapagos are March through May and November and December, when prices are cheaper.

Regarding passport requirements, you need valid passports to enter Ecuador, which is valid beyond six months. Apart from that no visas are necessary, as far as I know.

The currency there is the U.S. dollar and the country has coins ranging from one to 50 cents, all equivalent to the American coins. U.S. coins are accepted as well.
