| If you're planning a visit to Florida, you're definitely going to be interested in the most popular destinations, right? For obvious reasons, the resorts and attractions, Orlando and Disney World tend to top the list of many people's faves. St. Augustine is great for romantics, shopping, beaches, and the relaxation expected on a vacation. One of the most popular and sought after destinations in Florida are the Keys, and each island is a unique little paradise of nature. The Overseas Highway is one of the most important experiences in the Keys, and while the beaches are not quite as fine as Miami and other coastal cities, the waters are deluxe for snorkeling and scuba diving, and the atmosphere of the towns are generally exquisite. The northernmost barrier island of Florida, Amelia Island, is a great place to find exclusive resorts. Miami gives visitors a good comprehensive experience of beaches, entertainment, boutiques, and tons of attractions and activities. Daytona Beach is known for it's sandy white beaches and blue green waters. On the Gulf of Mexico side of the state, Panama City offers more beautiful beaches and the renowned emerald waters. Also known for their gorgeous beaches are Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, and the Tampa Bay area, each offering a unique experience.

| Moderator Jr Member | It's amazing how diverse and big Florida is...I'e spent a lot of time in North Florida and have always liked Jacksonville. It has some nice beaches and it's close to a lot of other great places for daytrips--like St. Augustine and Georgia's Golden Isles.

| Sanibel is quite lovely! Did you know that the wildlife refuge there has an app? You can download it and follow the nature trails to discover something really wonderful. It's called the iNature Trail, and you can find out more information here. |

| Disney World and Orlando are two of Florida's most popular vacation destination, but to be honest they're a bit overrated and way too crowded to be enjoyed as a vacation. I prefer the Keys and St. Augustine, especially Key West's Old Town which oozes with peculiar Key West charm that has made the town famous. |

| That looks so cool! I actually know the manager at Island Inn...Its an awesome place to go on vacation. I'm pretty sure you can ride the bike trail to the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge from there. |

| Moderator Jr Member | That's cool that you have a friend on Sanibel, Cincy. Have you been to the Shell Museum? My uncle and aunt went there on vacation and really liked it, even it was a bit dorky. Diegoo, you'e right, Key West is very charming.

| There are just so many things to do in Florida. The state and national parks alone provide options for camping, hiking, fishing, birdwatching, horseback riding, and wildlife observation. For sightseeing and tours, there's the Kennedy Space Center on the east coast in Melbourne, the Lightner Lighthouse and Museum in St. Augustine, the Jupiter Inlet lighthouse near Miami, and the Gamble Plantation, an authentic plantation from the Civil War period in Ellenton near Bradenton/Sarasota. Tarpon Springs is an old Greek city with working sponge docks. Sarasota has the famous Ringling Museum and the beautiful barrier islands like Anna Maria and Marco Island. No matter where you travel in Florida, there's plenty to do from coast to coast whether you choose the mega theme parks or quiet, out-of-the-way places with interesting history and fun things to do.
