Walt Disney World off-peak times are shortly before Thanksgiving or in early winter. If you're like most of us you don't have much of a choice but to visit during spring break. I recommedn ealry May vs. late May if you have a choice.

You might consider a FastPass, which allow you to pick up ride tickets in advance, are a great innovation. For example, at 10 a.m. a person might be able to pick up four tickets to ride the Rock 'N Roll Roller Coaster in Disney-MGM Studios between 1 and 3 p.m. When you arrive at the ride after 1 p.m., you enter through a special FastPass line that typically takes just 5 to 10 minutes.

Generally notes:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the least busy days.

Weekends can be twice as busy as weekdays.

Saturdays are busier than Sundays

Long Weekends can be 3 times as busy!

School holidays for USA can make it 3 times as Busy! (Note: school holiday timetables are scattered through the year)

I hope this helps.

I LOVED animal kingdom - and so did the kids. BIG TIP** dont forget to use the FastPass system available on most major rides at the Disney parks. You get a ticket for a return time and get in a "fast track" queue so you get on quicker and dont stand in line for hours! This worked pretty well even on weekends.

Also consider a vacation rental - we liked the home we got from imaginevacationhomes.com as it had a private pool and was very spacious and affordable - cheaper than a hotel room in the parks and we had a huge kitchen so we could eat breakfast in every day and prepare snacks for the park outings.

Australia huh! I would love to go there one day! I've heard it's nicer than Paris there. Fast pass is a huge help in skipping lines and d360 is pretty much on point with the times it's busy. Keep in mind that it is Disney, and it's pretty much busy all year round, just avoid major holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving.

I've been to Disney World during the second week of May, and I found that it was not nearly as crowded then as it had been at other times during the year. Since most school terms are finished at the end of May or early June, parents are reluctant to take their children out of school so close to the termination of classes due to final exams, graduation, etc. I think May is an ideal time to visit. If you are not staying on Disney property, I would recommend one of the condo resorts nearby such as The Flors. It's fairly new and very beautiful. The condos are attractively furnished and very spacious, and the rental fee is reasonable.
