I'm looking for Cheap Flights to Florida during the summer. I've heard that most people travel to southern Florida between October and April and that's the peak tourist season for flights there and that it's just the opposite if you're going to northern Florida. The winters are still quite mild, usually around the mid 60s, so you can still enjoy northern Florida's beaches, though sunbathing may be out of the question. Any ideas on airlines, destinations, etc. during the summer months? Last edited by rdcraw; 10-06-2006 at 03:16 PM.

You gotta remember that for all of Florida June to November is hurricane season, and there'll probably be some big storms during that time. If you’re heading to Orlando for the theme parks, expect them to be busy throughout the year. Try not to go during any school vacations like spring break, cause there will be a lot of people and you’ll encounter the longest lines at the theme parks. The same is true for any long holiday weekends all throughout the year. You can find a very cheap flight to Florida, but you've got to plan carefully and avoid the times when the beaches, theme parks, and other popular attractions are crowded. And try going places other tourists pass up, like Clearwater, where among other things you can swim with dolphins.

Although the summer months are very hot and humid you can have a great time in Florida. Think about heading to Crystal River on the Gulf Coast, you can swim with the Manatee and take diving lessons if you want... lots of diving at Crystal River. St. Pete Beach is fantastic! as well as Anna Maria Island near Bradenton. Catch a Devil Rays game in St. Petersburg and visit the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. A fun place to hang out is along Chanelside Drive in Downtown Tampa, nice atmosphere and tons to do. To find flights and airlines just check all of the airline web sites and of course the other places like Expedia but they don't have all of the airlines listed. I have found great deals from US Air and Delta... We moved to Tampa last June and played tourist all summer. We had a great time and are still exploring. Not sure where your coming from but West Jet has good fares from Ottawa. Jerry Last edited by jgault; 12-11-2006 at 03:48 PM.
