I am planning this year to take my family on a vacation to Ormond Beach in May time to avoid the Spring Break madness...I was wondering what Ormond Beach has to offer and what things we can do there?

Ormond Beach Florida is an excellent place to base yourself, and not only it is minutes from everything that Daytona Beach has to offer, but also it's only an hour's drive from Orlando, which is a bonus if you're traveling with kids.

In Ormond Beach, you can enjoy the beaches and explore the natural outdoors and places such as Tomoka State Park are one of the best places to get in touch with nature in the Daytona Beach area.

Also, consider touring the Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, which boasts the Sugar Mill Ruins, which figures on the National Register of Historic Sites.

During your visit to the Bulow Plantation, you can take the walking trail to the ruins if you please, or drive along the loop road and enjoy the views.

This Plantation also offers picnic areas, and you can go fishing off the dock and rent a canoe for a pleasant ride along the lake.
