Im taking my family to Atlanta this August but I haven't booked tickets just yet, so I don't know where I'll be arriving yet. My question is: what's the best Atlanta airport transportation to choose from and the most affordable? thanks

hi, I think that airport hotels are great alternatives because most of them offer complimentary airport shuttles so you won't have to worry about airport transport when you arrive in Atlanta. Apart from airport shuttles you can use buses, trains and rental cars. However, if you do want to use a shuttle but you happen to be staying at a hotel that does not offer complimentary shuttles, you will have other options like private companies that offer airport shuttle services.

| Atlanta has a ton of options, every one you can probably think of, for transportation. If you have your whole family with you, as you know, it will take some consideration. MARTA is Atlanta's transit system, and it connects the city pretty well, and my choice for cheapest options, but it might be too much of a hassle and not worth it if you have a lot of kids with you. Beyond that, a lot of hotels will provide a shuttle, and there's also rental cars if you're planning to stay for an extended period of time. Taxis begin to get into the higher price bracket range, depending on how far you are traveling from the airport. Buses are another option, but like the metro, it can be a hassle to get on and off with luggage. I've always gone with the MARTA metro, because usually, I have one small bag that isn't much of a nuisance, and the metro leaves me almost right where I need to go, which is a bonus for me, and it's my least expensive option.

Atlanta also has several park and ride lots. It's pretty easy to find a hotel shuttle to the park and ride lots...and then take the shuttle back to the airport. This really opens up your options where where to stay. You aren't stuck with a hotel right by the airport.

I can tell you what airport transportation is the most expensive...rental cars, limos and taxis. As far as airport shuttles, there are many hotels, and motels surrounding the airport (ATL) who provide free shuttle service to and from the Airport.
