| I think Tybee Island off the coast of Savannah boast some of the best Georgia beaches. I've vacationed at Tybee Island a few times and have never been disappointed. There are plenty of historic sites to check out and you're never too far from Savannah. Honestly, on Tybee Island there is always a place to sightsee or activities you can do taking a boat tour if you get tired of relaxing on the beach. Also, most of the restaurants have great seafood, atmosphere, and decent service, and the beach front condo rentals are great. |

| The barrier islands that run from Savannah down the coast to Florida have outstanding beaches. Tybee, St Simons, Sepalo, Cumberland are just a few of the 11 locations along the islands. There are plenty of hotels, resorts, camping areas, and restaurants to accommodate your needs. Little St Simons is only accessible by boat and allow limited guests at any one time. An alternative to the seaside is Lake Lanier, located in Gainesville to the north of Atlanta. If you have your own boat, there is a marina for fuel and supplies. Lake Lanier is popular for folks interested in boating, sailing, swimming, and just relaxing. The lake is beautiful and one of my favorite areas along with the north Georgia mountains.
