Winters stretch from mid-November to mid-March and temperatures can fall dramatically with occasional snowfall. Average daily temperatures are around 6 or 7°C. Rainfall during the winter is no greater than during the rest of the year although there can be freak rainstorms so it is advisable to take both warm and waterproof clothing if visiting the city during the winter months. For daily weather information on Atlanta you should look at the weather page which i think you will find useful.

Thank you Lynnie, wow 6-7 C that for us here in Winnipeg, Manitoba CANADA is shorts weather, for those who are welcoming spring.... nice so my son will have it easy. We can get down to -45 C in our winters here.

You will find under seasonal averages that the temperatures and precipitation can range from mild and dry to cold and snony (but never for very long). It will surely be nicer weather than in Canada during the winter. :-)

I've been living in Atlanta for the past 5 years and the winter weather is pretty unpredictable. But I can say that extreme cold is pretty unlikely. Everyone goes into a panic at the slightest hint of even light snowfall and everybody forgets how to drive and starts stocking up on canned goods! I think there have been a couple days of snow each year I have been here, but nothing serious. Mostly its pretty temperate and mild. I think it was in the 70s in December last year.
