| hi there, The Georgia Barrier Islands runs along the east coast of the state, from the St Mary's River bordering Florida and Georgia to Tybee Island where the Savannah River and Atlantic Ocean meet. I would suggest Little St. Simons for a great vacation destination. At Little St. Simons you can get away from it all and enjoy a private vacation along Georgia island beaches. |

| The barrier islands are beautiful vacation destinations along the southern east coast region of the state near Savannah. There are 11 islands beginning with Tybee and Wassaw Island at the northern tip and nearest to Savannah. Heading south, you have St. Catherine’s, Sapelo, and Wolf Island. St Simons and Little St. Simons Island and Sea Island are off the coast near Brunswick, Georgia. Jekyll Island and Little Cumberland Island at the southern tip adjacent to St. Marys. You'll find luxury accommodations readily available. Little St Simons Island is only accessible by boat and caters to no more than 30 guests at a time making it the ultimate location for romantic walks on the beach at sunset or a picnic for two by the ocean.

| if you are planning an inexpensive vacation to the gorgeous barrier islands of Georgia I'd recommend Jekyll Island. This island is located midway between Savannah and Jacksonville and boasts miles of barrier island beaches and lots of modern amenities. You'll be able to do marsh eco-tours, dolphin-watching, sea turtle walks, and bird watching among other stuff like golf, tennis, etc |

| They like to call them them Golden Isles in Georgia. I'm rather fond of St. Simon's Island. It has lovely beaches, a lighthouse, and some amazing history. You can see the church where John and Charles Wesley came to the New World as Methodist missionaries. There's also a cool church camp that welcomes visitors and has a neat museum. |
