What is the nearest airport to Munich apart from Munich

Flights into Munich are expensive and not convenient on timing for me for a trip to Munich in October, what is the most convenient alternative airport to fly into and then catch a train etc. It doesnt have to be Germany if say Switzerland is better?

you can try Nürnberg Airport, it's also an international one and it's pretty close to Munich ;)
