Germany

Germany has rich culture tradition and beautiful landscapes. The famous Oktoberfest can be experienced starting in September through October. For those traveling in the Christmas season, be sure to stop by Kris Kringle Mart. Only hours away from Munich are resorts in Germany and ski areas are best found at the Bavarian Alps.

Question Ski near Frankfurt?

Hi,

My name is Daniel and I´m from Argentina.

I will be travelling to Germany (Darmstadt, near Frankfurt) for work and I will love to go skiing on the weekends.

Will somebody tell me where to go? I´m pro skier I love powder and parks (pipe as well). I´m a certify instructor but left it for a desktoop work 2 years ago...

Pls if posible tell me how to get to the resorts, distances and prices.

Thanks in advance!

Smile Re: Skiing near Frankfurt

I know there Großer Feldberg im Taunus, Mount Feldberg, at 879m the highest of the Taunus mountains, is a magnet for locals who flock to the ski slopes, toboggan runs and Nordic skiing routes in winter. The summit is home to a mountain rescue service, an observatory and a weather station. The snowiest month is January but conditions in December and February are normally also good. Special buses run between Frankfurt and Feldberg during the ski season.
When it comes to Alpine skiing in Germany or snowboarding in Germany, your best bet will be the many ski areas that dot the Bavarian Alps. Out of all the resorts though, the most popular is Garmisch-Partenkirchen. With picturesque mountains dominating the view, Garmisch features the highest peak in Germany--Zugspitze.

Hope my answer has been helfpul!
