Hi everyone! I am a 19 year old recent cancer survivor that is looking to do a bit of a eurotrip in 2009. I plan on going to Amsterdam for 5-7 days then going to stay in Munich for the entire duration of Oktoberfest. I am looking for some information on very cheap places to stay ( hostiles, etc. , tourist attractions, and any kind of discount on plane tickets. I was thinking a courier (sp? ) where you deliver a package to a destination in exchange for a cheap flight. I am very ambitious about this trip because i just went through some hard times and now realize that life is precious and to make every second count. If you could please reply with some helpful information i would appreciate it greatly. p.s. If anyone is interested in joining me on this trip, please email me at Garretthunt2727@hotmail.com Yours Truely, Garrett

it's a very good idea... i was there this year and it was great, but you have to go with friends, otherwise it's just drinking and more drinking, if you go with someone theres talk, jokes and stuff in the middle hehehe

Hi Right, Sounds great with your plans, and good on you for taking such an amazing trip at such a young age! First question I have: Where are you actually from, ie. are you travelling from the USA? You may want to post some ads in Craigslist and Gumtree to look for travel partners. Some helpful info for you: (oops, i can't post links yet... search for Oktoberfest Survival Guide etc.) Going for the entire 2 weeks of Oktoberfest will be VERY expensive, even if you stay at the cheapest possible accomodation (in Munich, cheap means about 50 Euro per night during Oktoberfest. Hotels charge over 200 Euro a pop during those to weeks. Personally I would recommend staying shorter, but spening more per day - it's the ultimate party experience, and 100 Euro in the beer tents doesn't go far (5 or 6 beers + lunch and maybe a hat, and it's gone). I did it on a budget 3 years ago, and last year I took twice as much cash and had twice as much fun. Having said that, either way its an incredible party there. Enjoy every minute of it! :)
