No I have not been there yet. March will be the first time I have gone. Can you tell me if the airports there are similar to the US in the sense of time? Like, do I have to be there a certain amount of time before my flight?

Yes, two to three hours at least. Airport security is at its highest nowadays, and Germany airports have notoriously long queues due to their security checkpoints. Also, Frankfurt airports haven't got the best information signposts.

Hi -
I have been traveling to Germany extensively over the past 3 years due to my boyfriend being German.

I am very familiar with Bavaria and the Black Forest since this is where we spent most our time at. I have found it extremely difficult to find tours for people who speak english, but not german.

In big cities like Berlin and Munch or Nuremberg it was actually quite easy. But if you visit the country side (like the Black Forest) it's very difficult. have the experience that tours which you can book from the US prior to your trip are expensive. It is definitely cheaper to book tours while in Germany.
