Any skiing near Frankfurt

Hi there, I'm going to Frankfurt on business on the 8/3/07 and would love to make along weekend out of it and go skiing. Is there anywhere to go from Frankfurt?

Garmisch Partenkirchen is Germany's undisputed 'Winter Sports Capital', located only a short distance from the Austrian border in the country's southwestern corner.

You'll need to take a train to Munich and Munich get on the IC 119 "Alpenland"

Do you mean besides the alps? The outer-reaches trickle into southern Germany and some decent resorts exist. That's the only range I know of that'd provide some good real skiing, but it's in the neighborhood of a 6-hour drive from Frankfurt (assuming you're driving) and could be a mess on weekends. The resort D360 mentioned, the Garmisch Partenkirchen, sits on the highest mountain in Germany (about 3K meters).

Its only 485KM or about 300 miles. It guess it just depends on bad you want it. Train would be ideal but a 300 mile drive on the Autobahn isn't all so bad.

Im´m travelling to Frankfurt next week and I will love to go skiing.

Did you had the change to ski? Where? Distance? Prices?
