Germany

Germany has rich culture tradition and beautiful landscapes. The famous Oktoberfest can be experienced starting in September through October. For those traveling in the Christmas season, be sure to stop by Kris Kringle Mart. Only hours away from Munich are resorts in Germany and ski areas are best found at the Bavarian Alps.

Default Bamberg or Rothenburg

I am trying to avoid staying just 1 night in places as we like to relax in a town and also I have my parents and 6 year old in tow.

we will be travelling by car from Munich and I want to cruise along a bit of the romantic road and stay in Rothenburg or Bamburg

Any suggestions would it be better 1 night at each or 2 at 1.
Thanks
Susan

Definitely two nights in one of the cities. When I was younger I might have tried to stretch it out and do one in each but not anymore, and definitely not if I had my parents and a 6 year old with me. As for which city, I'd opt for Rothenberg. It's a bit more "touristy" than Bamberg but it's still great. The six year old will enjoy it, I believe.

Never been to either place but I too recommend the 2 nights in one of the towns. It's just easier, and both towns are similar (or so I've heard).

Thirded. Pick one of the two and enjoy it twice as much as you would have otherwise.
