ferry to Greece

hallo,,what are the main ports in Europe where I can catch a ferry to Greece? please friends any ideas?

hi there,

If you're planning to catch a ferry to Greece, most ports are located in Italy, primarily from ports in Ancona and Brindisi.

Other cities in Italy from which to catch ferries to Greece are Venice, Bari, Trieste and Otranto. These ferries to Greece are primarily the large hotel-like ships that are typically new and full of entertainment options.

When you arrive in Greece, you'll be docking in ports such as Patras, Igoumenitsa, and Corfu.

Hi, it really depends on where you are travelling from and where you are going to eventually in Greece. If you supply this information, then maybe you can get better answers. For me, I was coming from the UK and going to Thessaloniki. I went from Venice to Igoumenitsa. The only thing I would say is if you are driving on from Igoumenitsa to Thessaloniki or Athens then follow the signs for the Egnatia highway! Ignore the signs for the individuaol cities (I know sounds illogical right?!?) but trust me! Follow signs for the Egnatia highway.

I almost had a crash because the other roads are old and haven't been repaired for a long time. Also be prepared becuase Greeks drive like maniacs even at high speed - far worse, even, than the Italians!!
