|  Re: Guatemala holidays Just in like most central and south American countries, you'll find that Guatemala holidays are rooted in religious traditions, both Mayan religions and Catholic religion such as the Cofradia Festival which shows the melding of Catholicism and traditional Mayan religious practices. Overall, you can expect a lot of fanfare during Guatemala holidays and festivals, and plenty of alcohol like the popular "white lightning", which is Guaro made from sugar cane, and popular dishes like "Sak ik", which is based around turkey. |
