scuba diving in Guatemala

I am going 4 weeks trip to Guatemala and like to do scuba diving. Are there any safe and good scuba diving locations, if so please let me know about the details of the place. Thanks in advance.

hey annie: I was just coming to the board to ask the same question. I know that you can get small charters out of Livingston to the Southern most Keys of Belize, though Livingston can be a bit tricky to get to. Is there anywhere else to dive in Guatemala... anyone?

@MartyrL and Annie2: As far as I know you can do a lot of lake diving in Lake Atitlan which on the Pacific side of Guatemala. However, if you want easy diving in good walls and reefs without very long boat rides, it is better to just catch the ferry from Livingston or Puerto Barrios to the cayes in Belize.

Belize is really a nice place to do a few dives a day at your own pace. By the way, from Livingston the boat ride out to the cayes is just two hours, though be aware that the sea is often very rough and dangerous.
