|  Guatemala City to Tikal How long does it take to travel from Guatemala City to Tikal/Peten? I'm thinking of going to visit in the new year. |

|  Re: Guatemala City to Tikal It's about a 10 hour trip by bus from the ciudad to tikal.Seriously scenic views along the way. Tikal is an enchanting place, with magnificent temples, the music of birds punctuated with the howls of monkeys, and the fresh smell of rainforest permeating each breath of air you take. Once the largest Mayan city in the world, Tikal is now the site of ruined temples, pyramids, stelae, and other stone structures. It is an impressive place to visit.
