|  Tikal If you are planning a vacation to Guatemala you cannot go there without visiting the ancient ruined cities of the Maya civilization. Located withing the Guatemala National Park, the ruins are a major tourist attraction. Excavated between 1956 and 1969 the park contains some of the most fascinating archaelogical remains ever discovered.
