Hawaii

Hawaii is made up of many islands and is frequented by many around the world. The popular Waikiki area has everything from hotels, Waikiki Beach, and shopping. Conveniently, inter-island flights are quick and easy. Visit Maui and make a stop at the Haleakala Crater, providing incredible hiking trails or head over to the Big Island and experience the Big Island Helicopter Tour.

Post L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

While I know this has become a franchise and is out in many areas of the Mainland, nothing beats the ones in Hawaii! If you're down there and are looking for something fast, this is it! There are many things on the menu for everyone.

I would definitely recommend the Hawaiian Plate Lunch. It'll come with Rice, Macaroni Salad (this tastes like no other!), and the Main Entree, which consists of a short rib, steak, and chicken. It's great barbecue, local style!

If you think you can finish the plate on your own, ask about the mini plates. Just as GOOD!

For delicious eats on Oahu -- especially if you're based in Waikiki -- my money's on Ono Hawaiian Food, on Kapahulu Ave. They do delicious local dishes -- kalua pig, lomilomi salmon, etc. -- and will give you a feast fit for Kamehameha for around 10 bucks. If you've never had traditional Hawaiian food before (it was my first time), the lovely owners will show you the "proper" way to eat it. A great find!
