Default 20th. Wedding Anniversary

My wife & I are planning a trip to Hawaii (1st time) in August for our 20th. anniversary. We have narrowed it down to Maui. Problem is we cannot nail down where we want to stay. Whether it be a condo or hotel. We have looked at the Ritz, Westin, Four Seasons and more. Should we stay at a hotel for the services provided or get a condo for privacy? We are in our early 40's but still want to go out on the town. As parents of 3, we do not want to stay at a kid heavy resort. If we get a condo, will we need a rental car?

We have been trying to decide for weeks but everything online is overwhelming.

Hi there,

Car rental in Hawaii is highly recommended specially when travelling to Maui because public transport is virtually nonexistent.

Middle of June to mid August is Hawaii's peak season so, I would advise renting a car well in advance before high seasons starts to guarantee a car as they rent out quickly.

If you are looking for a place that offers privacy too, a condo rental in Kapulua villas in Kapulua could be a good choice for you.

The Kapulua villas spread over over one thousand acres with the West Maui Mountains looming in the background and offers a more laid back atmosphere than the tourist hotspots of Lahaina and Hana.

Hope this helps
