visiting the Copan Mayan ruins

hi folks, we'd like to visit the Copan Mayan ruins for the first time and I could with some tips and suggestion from you guys? how far is the nearest town to the ruins? and do you have any accommodation suggestion nearby?

hi there,

The nearest town is Copan Ruinas which is only a 10 minute walk from the site itself. Exploring the Copan Ruins site can take several days just so you know.

There are hotels and hostels to choose from. For instance, the Marina Copan Hotel is a good top-end option, while the Los Gelemos Copan Hotel is more affordable.

If you're on a shoestring budget, you can find hostels that offer shared rooms for under $5 a night.

Also, entrance to the Copan Ruins Honduras is about $10 a person, while entry to the Museum of Sculptures is about $6, but it is well worth it.
