hiking in Hungary

hi,

Part of our itinerary during our trip to Hungary is hiking. Can you guys give us some tips as well as areas you recommend hiking on?

hi there,

A couple of tips I can give you is to purchase hiking maps for your trek and to familiarize yourself with the trails you want to hike on and find out things like length, incline, and level of difficulty. If you wish to follow well-marked hiking trails in Hungary, one of your best bets will be to visit the national parks.

The Bugac Puszta and Bukk Hills national parks are popular hiking places. You can also hike through the Örseg National Park next to the Austrian border. There are a variety of trails available, well-marked trails and ideal for varying levels of difficulty.

If you want hike difficult trails then, you will enjoy the hills in the North of Hungary, including the Bükk, Mátra, and Zemplén hills.
