Hi there,

Illinois state has excellent museums. In Aurora, the SciTech Hands on Museum features exciting exhibits on weather, biology, sound, physics and astronomy.

In Big Rock, Illinois, the traveling Roberts Armory Museum specializes in the acquisition and display of light armored vehicles and artillery used by the U.S. Army in World War II.

In Champaign, Illinois, you have the Staerkel Planetarium is open year-round, provides science education programs and fascinating light show entertainment.

Hope this helps

Some of the best museums in the country are in Chicago.

Downtown on the just off of LSD (Lake Shore Drive) you can see the Natural History Museum - so big and so many unbelivable exhibits, you need two days at least. Also, right near Natural History, you can visit Shedd Aquarium with its brand new Ocenarium exhibit and also nearby is the Adler Planetarium. Terrific exhibits on Space and the Universe.

Just a bit south (of the Triangle mentioned above) down LSD is The Museum of Science and Industry - really cool place for kids and adults. Lots of hands on stuff and a real submarine you can go inside of and walk through. Kinda creepy!

Enjoy!
