| a friend of mine and i are interested in going away for a weekend and camping with nothing but a light backpack... I've never done this before and would love some advice, especially on catching rabbits with snares. |

| I'd advice carrying a map of the area you plan on going into and carry a compass. You never know when your GPS is going to ditch you out or something bad happens and you have to rely on a map/compass. Also, tell people when you plan on leaving and returning. These are probably two of the best "safety" precautions you can do when camping out in Iowa or anywhere really. Can't help you with snaring animals as I don't know Iowa laws. But I would think that snaring rabbits in a state park would be a no-no.. |
