The Sioux City Public Museum, the Sioux City Art Center and the Sioux City Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center are great places to learn about some Iowa history such as the landmark expedition of Lewis and Clark.

Sioux City will be soon be home to a big veterans park wrapped along the river, the Missouri. It will have a dog park, a veterans memorial, and museum. You'll also find some great views. The park is slated to open in 2013, but in the meantime, you can still enjoy views of the river.

Sioux City also is home to the Betty Strong Encounter Center, located right next to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Along with river views, the center offers a host of free art exhibits and programs, plus kids' programs.

You also can cross the river into South Sioux City Nebraska. It has lots of great shopping and some theaters. It's also close to the casinos and the Winnebago Indian Reservation. Here, you'll find the Woodland Trails Art, Retail, and Learning Center and Native American festivals.
