Default In and around Dublin

Hi - I am going to Dublin for a wedding in September and have decided to stay for a week.

Is there any MUST do activities in and around Dublin bearing in mind I have never been to Ireland.

Thanks

Hi there, I have visited Ireland many times and I think one of the best ways to get acquainted with Dublin is to take a bus tour. Dublin is a great place and offers everyone wonderful shopping, entertainment options, vibrant theatre and more traditional pubs. There are more to see in the city including the Guinness Factory, Trinity College, Grafton Street, Temple Bar Dublin Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Dublin Zoo, etc., Especially good for someone with a lot of time to spare in the city. The St. Stephens green is a large (27 acre) peaceful oasis which is located in the middle of City. It has many statues including memorials to Yeats and James Joyce. I prefer this place to go in the summer time for having lunch, to feed the ducks, wander around and see the beautiful display of flowers and fountains.

Don't miss the Dublin Butterfly House. It is a beautiful butterfly tropical fantasy world which is located in the heart of Fingal. You will get pleasure of watching a caterpillar become a beautiful butterfly, so don't miss this chance.

The Grafton Street is a Dublin's smartest shopping area with fashionable stores such as Brown Thomas, the department store. You can shop around here.

There are loads of nice restaurants, clubs, bars etc. Believe me, you won’t be short of things to do.

Well, like all of visitors, I’ll be back in Dublin again. Soon….

Thumbs up Re: In and around Dublin

The official (Hop On Hop Off) Dublin Bus Tour is the best way to take in the 'Must See' places in Dublin. There are 21 destinations on this one and a half hour tour with commentary. The tickets are valid for 24 hours. The best thing about this tour is that you will receive a discount on admission into all 21 destinations when you show your ticket. All Dublin Tour Operators such as A.A.D. will offer a discount on these tickets online.
Enjoy Dublin.
