I am trying to ascertain if there is a Dowdall Castle in or near Dublin. If anyone knows anything, please reply.

Hi there,

Dowdall Castle or Athlumney Castle is located in the town of Navan in County Meath. It is around 28 miles drive from Dublin.

Hope this Helps

In addition to Athlumney Castle in County Meath, there is Dowdall's Castle in Dundalk, but all that remains of it is a business and a plaque on the side of the building that indicates that it was once Dowdall's Castle. There is Glaspistol outside of Termonfeckin which also belonged to the Dowdall family, as well as Monkstown, County Meath and Causetown, County Meath. All are approximately 30 miles from Dublin. Could you give more details of what you are searching for? Specifically a castle called Dowdall's castle or castle which once belonged to the Dowdall family? There are also other homes which still the ruins still exist which belonged to the Dowdall family.
