getting to Venice islands

hey folks!

Is there a cheap way of getting to Venice islands and how long does it take? Also, once there, what is there to do in Venice islands? thanks

hi there,

Burano is only about four miles from Venice and can be reached in around 45 minutes, in a by vaporetto. The main thing to do in Burano is to stroll the streets and marvel at the distinctive colorful houses.

Murano island is the closest one and can be reached in a vaporetto in about 20 minutes. I would suggest getting off at the Colonna stop, as it's the main street in Murano so it's filled with many souvenir shops.

Apart from shopping, don't miss out on Murano's lovely churches like the Church of Santa Maria e San Donato and the Church of San Pietro Martire.
