best time to visit Florence

Does anyone know what Florence is like during July and August? If Florence is too overrun with tourists during summer when would be the best time to visit Florence then?

Between April and October you can expect large tourist crowds but July and August months are exceptionally busy, so if you do in fact mind the heavy tourist impact and are on a shoestring budget, you should consider visiting Florence in the winter. Florence is not terribly cold during this time of year, it's less busy and more affordable.

The best time to visit Florence in my opinion it's in either late March and mid September as crowds aren't as big and hotel prices aren't too inflated.

The best time to visit Florence is in May, early June, late September and October. Days during those months are usually warm, and quite long. July and August are hot and humid with many tourists. Since most Italians leave their hot cities in the summer, many restaurants are closed in Florence.
