|  skiing close to Rome hello, besides northern Italy ski resorts, does anyone know of any ski resorts close to Rome? we're visiting Rome for 14 days and we'd like to hit the slopes while there... |

| Re: skiing close to Rome You most defiently won't need to head to the skiing resorts in northern Italy to enjoy a bit of skiing near Rome. You can easily visit the ski resorts in the Apennine mountains in the Abruzzo region and enjoy a bit of downhill and cross-country skiing, and even ice skating. One of the most popular Abruzzo Italy skiing resorts is located in the town of Ovindoli, which is only about a 90 minutes drive from Rome. The town is small, but you will find plenty of hotels and cheap apartment rental options. |
