Default Italy attractions

My husband and I are going to take a trip to Italy in mid December. Our plan is only one week and we know it is very short time to look all the attractions. We are planning to rent a car and get around. So any recommendations from any one who is familiar with Italy tours or Italy attractions especially in Venice and Rome.

Venice is one of the beautiful and must see places in Italy. If you fly into Venice stay there for a bit and come to Rome by train. We have tried on that way during our Italy trip. Our kids wanted to go for a gondola ride and we got a chance to see Venice through its back door through this ride. It was very adventurous and fabulous. If you like something adventurous, try the gondola ride. We have also enjoyed the Museo Navale & Arsenale, with its ship models and old vessels, and many historic artifacts in the Museo Civico Correr. I am not sure if you've been to Italy before, but have a nice trip!!

Venice is gorgeous. The gondola ride is definitely worth it. I feel spoiled to say that I was able to go on two rides this past summer, and I loved both of them. If you're into art, try to see the Peggy Guggenheim... it's an interesting museum. You can also see the Doge's Palace. Truthfully, my favorite part about Venice is that you can wander around for hours and get completely lost, eating true italian food, and shopping in the markets.
