Italy

Art, History, and thousands of years of modern culture can be found in Italy. At the beautiful city of Venice you can experience the Venice Carnevale. Visit the Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museum. Visit the Trevi Fountain and experience the fable power. Lean with the Leaning Tower Of Pisa or stand with the Statue of David.

Smile honeymoon itinery

Planning a week in Italy as a honeymoon, hope to fly in to Rome on the 30th March 08 and fly back from Venice the following Sunday the 6th April taking in Florence along the way. Please advise as to whether this is do-able and also if you can recommend any particularly nice hotels along the way, this is a one- off trip so I'd like it to be special!

Your honeymoon in Italy , the trip of a lifetime.
You want it to be unforgettable. What better spot than Italy, with its romance, magnificent scenery, cities filled with history and charm to make memories last forever.
From a lavish luxury hotel to a tranquill hideaway, Italy offers destinations that are perfect for a dream honeymoon or a romantic break.
There are budget flights, so even if you're looking for an economic elopement rather than a leisurely luxury honeymoon, Venice is still an ideal option.
Venice, la Serenissima, is Italy's floating jewel, the destination that comes closest to an incarnation of Romance. It may be a cliche,
but few could resist the romantic appeal of a midnight gondola ride, a wander hand-in-hand over the Bridge of Sighs.
The perfect place for that romantic honeymoon.
And Rome is known as the Eternal City, and wandering among the ruins of Ancient Rome, the winding lanes of Medieval Rome, and admiring the palazzi and fountains of Renaissance Rome,
your romantic holiday will place you among the great traditions of western civilisation.
There are countless excellent restaurants with seating on the street, where you can watch the world go by, enticing corners to explore and rose-sellers to supply the finishing touch as you stroll over the Tiber, with the strains of gypsy music in the air.
The Amalfi Coast is a popular honeymoon destination in Italy. The views are spectacular, and the hotels are first-rate.
The pace of life is slower than in the cities; you can breakfast on a hotel balcony overlooking the sea, or take a leisurely boat trip along the dramatic coastline.
Ravello, above Amalfi, is a quiet and romantic location, with beautiful gardens where you can enjoy evening concerts in the summer.
The Isle of Capri is a stylish destination that was in vogue even in ancient times; the Emperor Tiberius retired to a luxury villa here.
The most romantic city in the world, Venice, with the city that invented love, Romeo and Juliet's Verona. Wind up your romancing at thelakeside resort of Lake Maggiore.
It’s enough to just wander its narrow streets and charming bridges and canals to be transported back to another time and era.
But you can’t miss the dramatically beautiful piazza, San Marco’s Square, where you will find outdoor cafes and orchestras playing classical music as you sip your Italian espresso.
Florence, the ultimate Renaissance city famed for its unparalleled art and architecture.
One of the most important collections of paintings in the world is housed in Florence’s Ufizzi Gallery, with Boticelli’s Birth of Venus on display.
And of course the most famous sculpture of all times, Michelangelo’s "The David" can be found at the Academy. This is truly an "art lovers haven".
And not to be missed of course is a stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, one of the most famous and picturesque bridges ever built.
And what would a trip to Florence be without a visit to its magnificent guilded Duomo and a walk up its tower for a simply superb view of the city and its surrounding coutryside.
I hope you have a great time, I know you will.
