| hi there, You can get to Padre Pio Shrine by train or bus. - If you choose the train option, you catch a train from Rome to Foggia then a connecting bus from Foggia to San Giovanni Rotondo that takes around 40 minutes. The Eurostar train takes only 3 hours to Foggia or the IC trains which is the cheaper option but it will take 5 hours. - If you choose to get a bus, there is an express bus service which runs from Rome Tiburtina to San Giovanni Rotondo taking 5 to 6 hours. A couple of hotel suggestions are the: - La Solaria which is a 3-star hotel very near the shrine with a restaurant and private parking area. - And the Bed and Breakfast Santa Lucia which is very cheap and it is located within walking distance of the sanctuary. Hope this helps Vacationbuddy
