| Junior Member | Hey there everyone.. I'm planning to take a trip to Japan at the end of this year (2008) or next summer, summer of 2009. I've never traveled out of the country on my own so I'm honestly not sure about any of it. I'd like to find a hotel in Kyoto being thats the place I'd like to see the most of. I'd like for this trip to last a couple of weeks... I'm thinking about moving to Japan in a couple of years so I'd like to really get as much out of this trip as possible... If anyone has suggestions of not only what to do when I get there but HOW to get there, etc. that would be really great. Thanks so much! |

| Japan offers a very wide range of attractions, from historical and cultural treasures to modern and futuristic sights and beautiful forests, mountains and seacoasts. Kyoto is the former Imperial city of Japan and the one of Japan prettiest and priciest. With it’s full of lantern-lit alleyways, ancient shrines and Buddhist Temples Kyoto gets millions of tourists every year. To arrange your first trip outside the country I suggest you to contact a tour operator, especially if you don’t know about the destination. |

| Kinda hard to look for hotels in Kyoto through the Internet (well, unless you know how to read Japanese). here are some of what I found: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g...Vacations.html http://www.luxurylink.com/luxury-hot...oductId=111276 Hope that helps a bit.

| Last year I visited Japan for the first time and I have to say that I spent there the best holidays of my life. I have been there for 2 weeks. I visited Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. The most beautiful temples were in Kyoto. What a such beautifull place such as Kiyomizudera temple, Kinkakuji Temple, Ninenzaka area. If you have a chance try to visit all the nice temples in Kyoto. |

| Junior Member | For travel, tour might be suggested. For future planning, I think you could start from searching a volunteer program in Japan. You will not only make the most of your visit to Japan, but also get a reliable friends, host family, detailed info about living in Japan. Hope you find it informative :)
