Default Help moving to Japan

If you are planning on working or living in Tokyo you may be worrying about the problems you will face in arranging affordable accommodation. Not to mention the language barrier when dealing with visa and foreign registration agencies, seeking medical treatment, finding your way around the public transport system and even how to go about finding friends in the largest metropolis in the world.

Our foreigner support service in Ikebukuro, Tokyo can help you through the minefield of Japanese bureaucracy and all aspects of living and working / studying in Japan. We even have a conversation cafe where you can meet new friends and if you don’t yet speak Japanese, we can even give you Japanese language lessons.

One of the biggest headaches for newcomers to Tokyo is finding accommodation. Landlords rarely speak English and some will not accept foreigners at all. At ESLC we can find you reasonably priced accommodation, help you fill in the forms (invariably written in kanji) and deal with all the legal stuff. If you like, we can offer you accommodation in one of our own properties where you can be part of a “western community” of people who have been living in Japan for some time and can provide additional support.

Why not call or email us with you questions and concerns before you set off for Japan. If you’re already in Tokyo you could call in for a coffee and a chat. All our staff speak English and some are native English speakers, so that’s one less thing to worry about!
