|  Golden Week in Japan For those who are looking to experience the culture of Japan in a week, I'd recommend going during Japan's Golden Week. Usually starting at the last week of April to the end of the first week of May, you can experience four of Japan's National holidays! These holidays include: -Showa Day from 2007 on (previously Greenery Day) -Constitution Memorial Day -Greenery Day from 2007 on (previously People's Day) -Children's Day a.k.a Boys' Day |

|  traveling during Golden Week in Japan We made the mistake of traveling to Japan during Golden Week last year. Around mid April is incredibly busy and all accommodation was at least double the normal price, but of course we din't know this until we got there and found this out, d'oh! If you're on a vacation it is without doubt one of the worst periods to actually try and have a holiday in Japan. Quote:
