Actually we have planned for a safari holiday at Lamu, but finally it has been ended as an adventurous holiday, yes, last year we made a trip to Kenya and for 17 days. We have seen almost all important areas during our Kenya vacation. Lamu has a beach and may be it's the best in all of Kenya, nice for kids. If you are looking for nice accommodation at Lamu, just visit Lamu hotels page to get an idea.

Lamu has a fort which is one of the popular historical big buildings of Kenya and we have started our guided tour from this place. Then we headed to Shela beach and spent may be 3 hours there in a sunny weather. And we had a lunch in a seafood restaurant Hapa Hapa and proceed our tour to old town, Lamu Museum and took a Dhow Trip. This dhow trip is an unforgettable experience and don't miss it. We have visited Manda Island, Takwa Ruins or Matondoni and this only made us our trip as adventurous. we ate much seafood here including crabs, lobster, oysters etc and got a great dining experience, really all of them were delicious. There are lots of things to do at Lamu, if you go there, whatever you see you like it, have a nice trip!

You can spend two to three days to explore the island around Lamu. You can enjoy many waterways and islets around the area.
