attractions near Kisumu

hey guys,

we're planning our month itinerary for Kenya which includes stays in Mombasa and Kisumu. We pretty much know what to do in Mombasa and Kisumu but I was looking for attractions or things to do near the area of Kisumu..any ideas on this?

hi there,

One of the best things to do near Kisumu is to explore the Kakamega Forest Reserve. The reserve is just 30 miles north of Kisumu Kenya.

The Kakamega Forest is home to many birds, insects, and reptiles which you can explore and photograph.

However, the only way to tour the Kakamega Forest Reserve is by foot, and I would recommend hiring a guide.

The advantage to hiring in a guide at the reserve is that they are officially trained, and it can be somewhat easy to get lost here, plus the guides can also help you identify different animal and plant species, as well as tell you a little bit about them.
