The Producers Opens In February 2007, The Producers opened at Paris Las Vegas. A version of the show was created by Mel Brooks especially for the Las Vegas market. The production has been edited to a 90 minute run time, approximately the length of the classic 1968 movie which served as the basis for the musical. There is no intermission.
Many of the stars of the Las Vegas production of The Producers have come directly from the Broadway and London productions. In August 2007, Tony Danza took over the lead role of Max Bialystock, a part he previously played on Broadway. In addition to Danza, Larry Raben (Leo Bloom), Lee Roy Reams (Roger DeBris), Bill Nolte (Franz Liebkind), and Rich Affannato (Carmen Ghia) also come from the Broadway or London productions of The Producers.
With the Broadway and London productions closing after immensely successful runs, the Las Vegas production of The Producers may be the last opportunity for audiences to see this record breaking musical. |
