New Orleans, and Louisiana activities?

We will be in New Orleans, and Louisiana area for a few days next April.
Any suggestion as to what are the must see and must do activities? would be appreciated.

The French Quarter -is the oldest and most famous neighborhood in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Their legacy is everywhere -- wrought-iron balconies, tall shutters, courtyards redolent of magnolia, a spicy etouffee perfuming the air, the French Quarter is a must-see!
Bounded by Canal Street, Esplanade Avenue, Rampart Street and the Mississippi River, the Quarter is especially alluring early in the morning when it has that just-scrubbed look, all the sidewalks having been hosed down to wash away the prior night's revelry. A fun way to get out of the Quarter is to hop on the St. Charles Streetcar, and remember, it's a streetcar, not a trolley.
This moving National Historic Landmark starts its run at Canal Street in the Central Business District, clanging through the Garden District, passing Tulane and Loyola Universities (and very green Audubon Park across the street, not to mention the nearby mansions with wraparound porches) and winding up at Palmer Park in Carrollton. It's the best buck you'll spend.
The Mighty Mississippi, it starts at Lake Itasca, Minnesota and winds 2,340 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. When it hits New Orleans, it's a half a mile wide and 200 feet deep.
It may be just a river, but in many ways, it's what made New Orleans, shipping having been an integral part of this city's growth.

You must eat beignets at the Café du Monde in the French Market the oldest open air market in America, this collections of merchants goes back to the early 1700’s when the explorers were using the mouth of the Mississippi as a launching port for trade across the new world. Stop off at the old world café and sip on some of the best coffee traveler’s in the 1800’s raved about! You can also nosh on the delicious deep fried donuts (beignets) which are covered in powdered sugar. I hope this helps!

If you like Gambling, Harrah's has a casino there. Also checkout Mulate's Original Cajun Restaurant. It is located in the Warehouse District by the convention center. They have live Cajun Music and a hugh dance floor. The food is excellent, but pricey. It is a toursit trap, but I think a must see when there.

I do not recommend eating in the quarter. The food is way over price, and not worth it. The attitude is to get you in the door. They do not expect you back. If you are going to the Quarter to eat, then stay clear of Sammy''s Seafood Restaurant. It is the worst.

If you like bars, then the quarter is the place to go. My favorite bar is Razzoo's. Jean Lafitte's Old Absynthe House is a good place to go for a beer too just to say you were there. It isn't much to look at, but it is the oldest continously running bar in the US.

Wow you are going to Louisiana? You are lucky i would love to be back there right now. I went there in February this year and absoulotley loved the place, there was so much to do! I went sightseeing at the french quater, go there its really lovley. Here you will a mix of clubs, souvenir shops, restaurants, voodoo vendors, and beautiful homes.At Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World you can watch artists preparing floats for Mardi Gras at the workshops and warehouses of the world's largest float builder.

I am still not aware of new orleans. But when I came through know my friend, i really got excited to visit orleans. He told me about New Orleans, which has abundant wildlife, and nowhere is it more apparent than in the swamps and bayous of Louisiana. I got know, there is some steamboat in new orleans which is famous as "Steamboat Natchez" and which Savor the beauty and romance of New Orleans from the deck. At finally i also decided to visit new orleans in summer and i hope we will have fun.
