Since you will be arriving at 2 AM, it's unlikely that you won't likely go around a lot. I would suggest that you head to a restaurant instead.

There are also several performing grounds that you can go to in the city for a more relaxing wait.

Smile Re: Macau at night

I'm going to Hong Kong for 5 weeks and I'll basically be traveling on my own for the most part. While there I want to visit Macau on my own...the thing is my dad doesn't want me to, he says is dangerous??

So what's up with Macau? I'm not going to be gambling. I just want to walk around at night, take some nice pictures, and see how things are like there. any thoughts?

Macau is a nice place and well known for gambling obviously, but not for being dangerous. I think your dad may have watched too many TVB drama series about Macau's loan sharks.

Day time, Macau is great but night time is slightly a different story depending on where you go, but then again all major cities have dodgy areas, right?

what I'd say is that if you're going to be travelling all by yourself just stay out of dark alleys or places with little or no people around. Don't parade around in expensive stuff including clothes/excessive jewelry, or you'll be asking to be mugged.
